Gmail and Google Workspace
Your Gmail shared inbox, run as a team.
A shared Gmail address usually means one password passed around the team, stars and labels standing in for “I’ve got this”, and emails nobody answers because everybody thought somebody else would. Parly connects to that inbox and gives everyone their own login, an owner and a status on every email, and replies from your own address.
The problem
Gmail is built for one person. Share it and you lose track of who read what, who replied, and who should have. Delegation and collaborative inboxes help a little, but there is still no owner per email, no status beyond read and unread, and no record of who answered.
Parly keeps your mail in Gmail and adds the team layer on top: own logins, assignment, status, internal notes and a full history per conversation.
How it works
Connected in a minute, nothing to migrate.
Connect the address
Add the shared Gmail or Google Workspace address over IMAP with an app password. No DNS or MX changes.
Invite the team
Everyone signs in with their own login. Unlimited teammates on every plan, and access per mailbox.
Answer together
Assign, set a status, leave internal notes and reply from Parly, Slack or Teams. Replies go out from the shared address.
Since this morning every label we create triggers two webhook calls. Could someone take a look?
Ownership
Every email has an owner and a status.
Open, waiting or solved, and whose it is. Mine and Unassigned make it obvious what is left, and a colleague viewing the same email shows up live, so nobody answers twice.
What changes
The same inbox, with a team around it.
Own logins
Stop sharing the Gmail password. Add and remove people in a click, with an audit trail of who did what.
Assignment and status
Take a conversation or give it to a teammate. Open, waiting and solved instead of read and unread.
Internal notes and @mentions
Discuss a case next to the email. Notes are never sent to the customer.
Replies from your address
Customers hear from your shared address, threaded with their own email.
Questions
- How do I share a Gmail inbox with my team?
- The usual ways are sharing the password, delegating access, or a Google Groups collaborative inbox. Each leaves you guessing who is answering what. With Parly you connect the address once and everyone works it with their own login, with an owner and a status on every email.
- Can I assign emails to teammates in Gmail?
- Not in Gmail itself. In Parly you give a conversation to a teammate or take it yourself, with Mine and Unassigned views (assignment is part of helpdesk mode), and the owner hears about it when the customer writes back.
- How does Parly connect to Gmail?
- Over IMAP, with an app password created for the Google account behind the shared address. Your mail stays in Gmail, nothing is migrated, and there are no DNS or MX changes. On Google Workspace your admin may need to allow IMAP for that account.
- Do replies still show up in Gmail?
- Yes. Parly sends from the same address through Gmail, so replies appear in its Sent mail and anyone who still opens the inbox sees the full conversation.
- Is this a replacement for a Google Groups collaborative inbox?
- For a team answering customers, yes: own logins, assignment, status, internal notes, SLAs and replies from Slack or Teams, on top of the address you already have. You can keep the group for distribution if you like.
- What does it cost?
- €19 per mailbox per month with unlimited teammates, first month free, prices excluding VAT.
